Why won't Ubuntu 13.04 recognize a special network?
First, I was unable to use the built-in network module of my nearly new Dell laptop. Also, I couldn't change the brightness of the display. Neither of these actions were a problem with Ubuntu 12.x.
After coming home from a holiday, my laptop could no longer find my home WiFi network. I can connect to this network when I use Windows 8, which is installed on another partition. I could connect to the network with my smartphone. With Ubuntu, I see all of my neighbours' networks but not my own network.
How can this be?
I deleted all known networks in Network Control, but it still does not show up in the list of available networks. If I try to set it up as a hidden network, it still can't find and connect to it. I really don't understand it, so I am forced to use my ethernet cable again.
