Theme-related problem with the user selecting a featured image

Theme-related problem with the user selecting a featured image

Steps to replicate issue:
Open any post
Scroll to the lower left "Set Featured Image" link
Go through process of selecting a featured image.
Select image
click the "Set featured image" button
After performing the step above, WP returns you to the post page, but without the featured image being set. (That is, no featured image appears in that section.)
Error log output when step 3.2, above, is performed:
[Sat May 25 14:53:37 2013] [error] [client 192.168.56.1] PHP Notice:  Undefined index:      height in /webdata/snickers/wp-includes/media.php on line 1419, referer: http://v.box:10136/ wp-admin/post.php?post=1447&action=edit

Troubleshooting
Disabling all plugins had no effect on the issue. However, switching the theme to "Twenty Eleven" or "Twenty Twelve" allows the user to select the featured image
The theme, "LucidPress" also throws errors when on the Dashboard > Lucidpress page, a.k.a., "Masterkey" page, namely due to an undefined index "name" for the "page introduce" background image. I presume this is unrelated.
I am familiar with a recent change WP made to featured images for images smaller than a certain size. With the themes Twenty Eleven and Twenty Twelve, selecting and showing the featured image, as per that change, is consistent. This, however, is not true of the LucidPress theme.
Parameters
WordPress version 3.5.1
LucidPress version 2.6.3
Same issue whether on a linux/shared host or on ubuntu server on virtualbox
